This newsletter will keep you up to date with opportunities to further develop your professional skills. Each time you take advantage of these opportunities you will be taking one step closer to building the best experience possible during your time at UConn.

Undergraduate Programs Office

The Undergraduate Programs Office is located in:
Room 121 in the School of Business building. It is open from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

Advisor Appointments
Sophomores have been emailed to schedule their registration advising appointment. To schedule, please use the online link to select your appointment time.

Freshmen and transfer students will be emailed soon to schedule your appointment.

Dean's Signature
Procedures that require business students to request the Dean’s permission or approval are processed in the Undergraduate Programs Office. Please allow at least a week in time for review.

Undergraduate Programs Office - Walk-In Hours

The Office holds walk-in advising hours on Monday-Friday from 2-3pm. This time is available for non-business students with questions or those students who are not able to make an appointment during regularly scheduled advising times.

Walk-in advising is on a first come first served basis.

The School of Business in conjunction with the Alumni Association will be hosting a Networking Forum on the evening of:

    The evening is designed to be a low pressure event where you will gain experience speaking informally with professionals, build rapport, and eventually gain a valuable contact for your future career goals.

    Here are the Steps for a Successful Graduation.

    As a Business student, you must:
  • Submit a plan of study for your major and academic year, signed by your major faculty advisor during the first four weeks of the semester.

    Plans of Study are available in the School of Business, Room 121 or online at Plans of Study.

  • "Apply to graduate" on Peoplesoft.

    Students at regional campuses may mail their signed Plan of Study to:

  • Business & Technology Major

    Are you seeking a major that combines a general business education with a special emphasis on the application of technology to modern-day business problems?

    If so, apply now to our Business & Technology major!

    The School of Business is now accepting applications for the Business & Technology major offered at the Greater Hartford, Stamford and Waterbury regional campuses.

  • Facilities Improvement Committee

    Do you have ideas on how the School of Business could improve its facilities?

    Would you like to share those ideas with the School Administration?

    We are searching for School of Business students that would be interested in serving on a committee investigating ideas on improving the School of Business facility.

    The committee will consist of administration, faculty, staff, and student representatives at the Business School and will make recommendations for improvements and changes for areas of concern. The group will meet as needed throughout the year.

    BUSY Mentoring Program

    The BUSY (Business Undergraduate Student Youth) Mentoring Program is now accepting applications!

    BUSY is designed to connect lower division or transfer students with an interest in Business majors to an upper division peer mentor already in the School of Business.

    Please consider this program if you are a first or second year student with an interest in business or a third or fourth year student willing to share about your experience. For further information, please see BUSY program information.

    Mark your calendar for the kick-off of the UConn Student Entrepreneurship Seminar and Interactive Panel Series!

    SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP INTERNSHIP STUDY ABROAD STUDENT SYMPOSIUM The University of Connecticut Study Abroad Program, Honors Program and School of Business partnered with Social Entrepreneur Corps to provide a unique 8-week program that integrates business and development theory with practice in an adventurous environment.

    Are you interested in:
  • A rare opportunity to participate in active social enterprises in the developing world?
  • Learning the nuances of effective development work and the problem-solving strategies that social entrepreneurs use to overcome everyday challenges?

    The Social Entrepreneurship Symposium provides the University community an opportunity to hear first hand about the student experiences in their two month program with Social Entrepreneur Corps. Their presentations focus on how they applied their knowledge and practice of social entrepreneurship while working with local entrepreneurs in Guatemala and their analysis resulting in the allocation of actual funding for additional development efforts.

    The greater community is encouraged to attend.
