Konover Development Trip
Konover Development Corporation welcomed University of Connecticut Real Estate ungraduate and MBA students on Friday, February 8, 2008 for a luncheon and project development presentation. Konover Development Corporation specializes in the development of shopping center facilities for national and regional retail clients.Jim Ainsworth, and Stan Glantz gave an introduction to shopping center development, the Konover corporation and discussed current traends with the students. We broke for lunch where Students had the opportunity to network with Konover professionals. Following the luncheon, John Anderson, Jeff Johnson, Michelle Carlson, Chris Rice, David Steinberg, Rich Giveans, and Steve Elson walked through the logistics of a current project they are working on. The Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies has assembled resumes of internship candidates and graduating majors in Real Estate as well as other allied disciplines. The real estate students are completing what many consider to be one of the best academic real estate programs in the United States. As in the past, we are offering an electronic version that will be accessible on our web page. Real Estate Center Spring 2008 Calendar

1. 6th Annual Awards Banquet – Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the South Campus Ballroom. Reception starts at 5:00, dinner at 6:00. Recognition of outstanding students, alumni and scholarship winners.
2. Instructor’s Seminar – Friday, April 4, 2008. Hawthorne Inn , Berlin, Connecticut.
3. Connecticut Housing Conference – Thursday, May 8, 2008. Hawthrone Inn, 2387-2421 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, Connecticut. Registration begins at 11:30 and lunch at 11:45. Keynote will be Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist for the National Association of Realtors.
4. Real Estate Society - Professional Speakers in Classroom – Each undergrad course will have two or so speakers each during semester. Dates determined by instructor. Coordinate dates with Ray.
